Deep Gratitude to All of You for Bringing Dreams to Rabuor

The generosity of our community of donors and supporters continues to amaze! During our 2016 Holiday Drive, you were part of raising nearly $9,000! Our Executive Director, Loyce Ong'udi, is happy to report that the completion of the ground floor classrooms is in sight thanks to your generosity.  The four classrooms look fantastic, as you can see in the below photograph.  Our primary school students will soon be moving permanently into these lovely spaces, with new desks, cabinets, electricity, and bright walls!

Donor funds have also allowed Mwanzo to double the size of the eating area at our school, and to purchase dining tables for our 250-plus preschoolers and primary students.  The below picture gives us a glimpse of this new space, where we are caring both for the body and spirit of children such as Omallo, Margaret, and Dorothy!

In building these facilities, Mwanzo is also providing much needed employment to young men such as Oliver. Oliver is an orphan who was accepted into the Nairobi University Law School in 2014, but had to defer his dream in 2016 due to the lack of money to cover his tuition. Oliver has been working 8 hours, 7 days a week doing heavy construction, and he hopes that this money will allow him to complete his degree. Oliver reminds us that Mwanzo exists to keep such dreams alive!

Loyce passes along greetings from the community in Rabuor, our school staff, and Mwanzo's partners.  She is excited about her return to Seattle before the end of January 2017, and the opportunity to share with you the hope and joy that our work brings to hundreds of adults and children in Rabuor and its surrounding communities!
